DIY Special Effects Makeup/ Body Decor
Alli (she/they) is a haunted little creature making art out of the wreckage, exploring the grotesque and the beautiful in what others often discard or fear. Their work writhes at an intersection of queer freakshow, meltdown and drawing inspiration from classic horror cinema, iconic pop-culture figures, and a touch of campy irreverence.
Drawing from personal mythologies, identity, and neurodivergent perception, she bridges the haunted and the feral, the playful and the disturbing. With self-taught experimentation, Alli creates immersive pieces that invite viewers to confront the uncanny with curiosity.
Rooted in DIY ethos and often incorporating found objects, thrifted items and trash, their work has primarily appeared as site-specific interventions in public spaces.
They are currently based in Pijinuiskaq (Bridgewater), Mi'kma'ki (Nova Scotia), crafting new worlds from the bones of the old.
Alli is available to perform rituals, engage in collaborations, and activate cursed creative spaces.
